She was the youngest of twelve children, and only one brother, Warren E. Roll of Denver, Colorado, survives her. At an early age she came to Kansas, where she lived the remainder of her life. Reared in a Methodist home, she lived a Christian life, and always did the best she could for those around her. On July 3, 1886 she was married to Elmer Ellsworth Tilton in Concordia, Kansas. This life companion preceded her in death a week ago, while his wife was confined to her bed, seriously ill, and could not attend the funeral services for him. Companions for 54 years, they now enter their eternal rest close together. To their union were born five children: --- Oral W., who died in infancy; Clem T., of Caldwell, Idaho; Mrs. Mary Reta Dillon of Glasco, Kansas; Mrs. Lela May Melton of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Mrs. Viola V. Tilton of Boone, Colorado. Mrs. Tilton leaves 13 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, as well as a host of relatives and friends to mourn her loss. She will be missed by many neighbors. Funeral services were held on Friday, December 20, 1940, at 2:00 p.m. in the Lott and Stine Funeral Home in Glasco, Rev. R.R. Braddick officiating. Interment was made by the side of her husband in Glasco cemetery.
