Sterling, a former resident of Crisfield, widow of the late Elijah J. Sterling, died at the Christ Home in Philadelphia on Friday of last week. She was 71 years of age. She was the daughter of the late William Hope Pruitt and Corrine Clarke Sterling Pruitt, of this community. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 3.00 o'clock at the Bradshaw Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. J.T. Rowlenson. Interment was in Asbury cemetery. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 3.00 o'clock at the Bradshaw Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. J.T. Rowlenson. Interment was in Asbury cemetery. Pallbearers were Warren F. Sterling, J. Coyne Sterling, Thomas B. Sterling, Archie Sterling, Edmund Sterling and Elijah Sterling. The large attendance at the funeral and the many lovely floral pieces banking the casket testified to the love and esteem ion which she was held by relatives and friends. She is survived by two sons, James Carlton Sterling and Wendall Sterling, of the U.S. Army, now overseas; two brothers, William H. Pruitt, of Crisfield, and Sherman Pruitt, of California; and four sisters, Mrs. E.O. Nicholson, of Petersburg, Va., Mrs. Fannie Todd and Mrs. Hance Sterling, of this city, and Mrs. Norman Lewis, of Pocomoke City. Two grandchildren also survive.
