Description	:	Mrs. Johannes Anderson, a pioneer resident of Elk township, passed away in her home in Alta after an illness of a few days with heart trouble, caused by rheumatism. She was taken sick on Thursday of last week, but her illness was not supposed to be serious until Saturday, when she commenced to grow weaker, death occurring Monday morning about 2:30. Read More	Mrs. Johannes Anderson, a pioneer resident of Elk township, passed away in her home in Alta after an illness of a few days with heart trouble, caused by rheumatism. She was taken sick on Thursday of last week, but her illness was not supposed to be serious until Saturday, when she commenced to grow weaker, death occurring Monday morning about 2:30. Her children and their families came on Friday to celebrate her 71st birthday anniversary and found her ill and unable to participate in the pleasure that had been planned. The children were called in on Sunday morning when it was seen that she could not long survive and they remained to comfort her in the few remaining hours. Anna Mary Anderson was born in Ebeld (Abild), Denmark, on June 30th, 1840, and lived there until twenty-nine years of age. In February, 1868, she was united in marriage to Johannes Anderson. A year later she came with her husband to make their home in the land of the free, settling at Kankakee, Illinois, where they resided for seventeen years. Twenty-five years ago they moved to this state, settling on a farm in Elk township, where they lived until retiring to town two years ago. Six children were born to them, all of whom, with the husband and father, remained to mourn the great loss. The children are: Louis, Jeaf and Eddie, all of Elk township, Peter, who resides in Stanley county, South Dakota, Mrs. Maggie Benson, of Linn Grove, and Mrs. Anna Johnson, of Elk township. Mrs. Anderson was an unusual wife and mother and the best evidence of her ability as a home maker is the character of her children. Her Christian influence and training has made them exemplary citizens and men and women of influence in their respective communities. She was a kind neighbor and there is genuine sorrow among the people of Elk township over her death. The aged husband and the children have the sincere sympathy of all in their sorrow.
