Lawrensen, pioneer resident of Clay county, were held at the Rockfield Lutheran church Saturday afternoon with the Rev. E. A. Erlander officiating. Andrew C. Lawrensen was born in Schlewsig-Holstein, Denmark on May 5, 1862. In 1881, he came to Clay county, where he worked on the railroad, helping repair the tracks ruined by the Flood of that year. Lawrensen was born in Schlewsig-Holstein, Denmark on May 5, 1862. In 1881, he came to Clay county, where he worked on the railroad, helping repair the tracks ruined by the Flood of that year. He was also employed on the Lee and Prentis ranch in his early years in this community. He was married to Camilla Jensen on December 18, 1887, in the Rockfield community. After farming for a short time in the Newdale district, they purchased a farm in the Rockfield area where they lived until he retired from farming in 1924. After living in Oregon from 1924 until 1928, they purchased a home in Vermillion, where they have resided ever since. Mr. Lawrensen was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in Denmark and was a member of the Rockfield church for over 50 years. He is survived by his widow and five children: Walter, Andy, Arthur, and Jessie (Mrs. George Jensen) of this community, and Leslie of Bell, California. He is also survived by one brother, Max, of Oregon and a sister, Jane Hansen of Greenfield. There are 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Casket bearers, all grandsons of the deceased, were Lyle, Burton and Elvin Lawrensen, Gail, Leo and Arden Jensen. Burial was in the Rockfield Cemetery under the direction of the Rank M. Olds funeral service. Taken from obituary published in local newspaper, no citation.
