He passed away April 29, 1930, at the age of 81 years, 6 months, 4 days, at his farm home a short distance east of Stratford. He came to America in 1869 and located at Wyoming, Ill. He was married to Ingra Liza Sundell, June 2, 1877 and they came to Hamilton county in 1880. In 1881 they located on the farm, east of Stratford, where he resided until his death. Read More	Stratford Courier May 8, 1930 OBITUARY Andrew Lindquist Andrew Lindquist was born in Pelare socken, Kalmar Lan, Smaland, Sweden, October 25, 1848. He passed away April 29, 1930, at the age of 81 years, 6 months, 4 days, at his farm home a short distance east of Stratford. He came to America in 1869 and located at Wyoming, Ill. He was married to Ingra Liza Sundell, June 2, 1877 and they came to Hamilton county in 1880. In 1881 they located on the farm, east of Stratford, where he resided until his death. His wife preceded him in death twenty-four years ago. He was a kind and loving husband and father, who sacrificed much for the welfare of his family. He is survived by three sons and five daughters: Mrs. Amelia Johnson and August Lindquist, of Burley, Idaho; Mrs. Amanda Morgan, of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Guy Lucas, of Woonsocket, S. Dak., Carl, Emanuel, Misses Anna and Edith, all of Stratford. Eight grandchildren also mourn a beloved grandfather. He is also mourned by two sisters, Mrs. Matilda Gustafson and Mrs. Lottie Sealine, both of this community, and a large number of other relatives and friends. He was baptized in infancy and at the age of sixteen was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in the church of Sweden. He united with the local Lutheran church in 1888 and remained a faithful member until his death. As a member of the board of trustees of this church he served for several years. He was always present at divine services as long as his health permitted and will be greatly missed by all. He had a firm belief in the salvation of the soul through the atonement of Jesus Christ and found great comfort and peace in daily prayer and in reading his Bible. The following relatives and friends from out of town were here for the funeral: Mrs. George Near and daughter, Miss Faye, of Boone; Mr. and Mrs. Charley Gustafson, of Des Moines; Miss Hilma Melin, of Moline, Ill; Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Rexroat, of Woolstock. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church in Stratford at 2:00 p.m. Thursday. The services were conducted by the Rev. P. Holmberg, of Boxholm. The nephews of deceased acted as pall bearers. Burial was made in the South Marion cemetery. Card of Thanks We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to the relatives and friends who so kindly assisted us during the illness and death of our beloved father, Andrew Lindquist. Also to the quartet and to those who sent the beautiful flowers. The Children.
