At three or four years of age, she accompanied her parents to the United States and to Omaha, Nebraska, where the family resided a short while. Shortly afterward, the family moved to Wolbach where Mrs. Holm was to spend the rest of her life. She was united in marriage to Gus Holm on October 27, 1900. For a brief while, they resided in Greeley but soon returned to Wolbach. Of this union, three children were born. They are Carl James Holm of Wolbach, Mrs. Ruth Wight of Omaha and Mrs. Mae Fox of Chicago, Illinois. In addition to these, she leaves behind two sisters; Mrs. Sena Johnson of Wolbach and Mrs. Minnie Tempest of Omaha; three brothers, Chris Christensen, Arthur Christensen and J. W. "Bill" Christensen, all of Wolbach and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus; her parents, and her sister, Lilly. She passed to her eternal rest December 22, 1958 at the Lutheran Hospital in Grand Island. At death she was 79 years, 10 months and 26 days of age. She had been a resident of Wolbach for over 70 years. Mrs. Holm was a familiar sight around Wolbach, walking almost everywhere she went. All who knew her admired her for all the many good things in her life. She never tired of serving others, not only in her general contacts with her neighbors and friends, but in her work as secretary of the American Legion Auxilliary, a position which she has held for more than 25 years; and in her church. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, which she joined in 1914. In the years of her faithfulness to her church has been an inspiration to all who knew her. She sang for many years in the choir, served long and faithfully in the Altar Guild, in the United Lutheran church Women and on the Sunday School staff. In her passing, Wolbach loses a dear and kind friend, and Trinity Lutheran loses one of its most faithful members. Her memory will remain dear to many.
