Read More	In 1860 she lived in Galesburg, IL, with her parents, older brother H A, and twin brother Ellis. Her father was a railroad switchman. In 1870 she lived in Oneida, IL, with her parents and four brothers and a sister. Her father was a sign and house painter. In 1880 she lived with her parents, three brothers, and a sister in New Windsor, IL. Her father was a house painter. In 1885 she and James and their daughter Ethel lived on a farm in Clay Township, Grundy County, IA. In 1900 she and James and their four children lived on a farm they owned, with a mortgage, in Van Meter Township, Dallas County, IA. Also living with them was Jennie's sister Mary's three-year-old daughter, Grace, who they had taken in after her parents had died. By 1910 she, James, Claude, and Myrtle had moved to Neligh, NE, where she and James would live for the rest of their lives. In 1910 James was the landlord of a feed barn and owned their home mortgage free. In 1920 James owned their home, with a mortgage. He was a bookkeeper for an insurance company. Claude was their only child still living at home, and Jennie's mother, Amanda Simkins, lived with them, too. In 1930 it was just she and James, living on Fletcher Street, which may have been the name of the alley just west of Main Street. There were also Coe, Mulberry, Locust, Chestnut, and Oak Streets shown near them in the 1930 census records, but no streets with any of those names exist in Neligh any longer. James owned their home, which was valued at $1700. They had a radio, and he was a secretary for Mutual Insurance Co. In addition to the children linked, James and Jennie had another son, who was the twin of Claude: Clyde Oscar Minteer (1888-1965)
