Description | : | Annie Morton Smith was born in Loudoun, Ayr, Scotland on December 12, 1832. She was the daughter of George Smith and Janet Morton. Annie married James Rintoul on May 18, 1850 in Loudoun. The couple emigrated to Canada soon after their marriage. Records from the Dufferin Museum indicate that they departed from Glasgow and arrived in Quebec after a nine-week voyage. The couple first settled near Beverley Township, Wentworth.
