Description	:	Anna Amanda Anderson, daughter of Ole and Eleanor Anderson, was born in Adams County, near Nodaway, on January 3, 1883 and passed away at her home in Nodaway on February 2, 1948, aged 65 years and 29 days. When a girl she attended the Strand Lutheran Church. She was married to Joseph Devine on October 14, 1908. Read More	Anna Amanda Anderson, daughter of Ole and Eleanor Anderson, was born in Adams County, near Nodaway, on January 3, 1883 and passed away at her home in Nodaway on February 2, 1948, aged 65 years and 29 days. When a girl she attended the Strand Lutheran Church. She was married to Joseph Devine on October 14, 1908. To this union was born four children, Mary Katherine, preceded her in death a number of years ago. The three sons are Raymond, of Nodaway, Harold of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Paul of McCook, Nebraska; all of whom were present at the services. She spent her entire life in Adams County, near and in Nodaway. Besides her husband and three sons, she leaves to mourn her loss, six grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Elsie Figgins of Villisca, and a host of friends. Six brothers and one sister preceded her in death. She was a kind mother and a loving wife and will be badly missed by all who knew her. Rosary was recited at the Pitman Funeral Home at 8 p.m., Wednesday and funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Nodaway, conducted by Rev. Wayne Sheffle. Music was by Rosa dn Emma Jean March with Mrs. Rose Stalder, pianist. Casket bearers were Charlie Devin, Art Devine, Harold Good, Jack McClaren, Orville Mitchell, and Eric Jorgenson. Mrs. Chas. Wood and Mrs. Fred Carothers assisted with the flowers. Interment was in the Nodaway Cemetery. Those from out of town attending the funeral of Mrs. Joe Devine, Thursday, included, A. F. Devine of Maryville, Missouri, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Devine, Mr. and Mrs. Jack McClaren and Miss Loretta Devine, all of Massena; and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Waters of Mt. Etna; Mrs. John Williams of Red Oak; Mrs. O. L. Figgins of Villisca; and several others whose names we did not learn. Adams County Free Press, February 12, 1948, page 22
