Description	:	Raymond "Deter" Devine, 78, son of Joseph Patrick and Anna Amanda Anderson Devine, was born November 5, 1913, in Adams County, on a farm north of Nodaway and died June 15, 1992, at the Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. He attended school in Nodaway and graduated in 1931. He worked on various farms and in coal mines and also for the Burlington Railroad. Read More	Raymond "Deter" Devine, 78, son of Joseph Patrick and Anna Amanda Anderson Devine, was born November 5, 1913, in Adams County, on a farm north of Nodaway and died June 15, 1992, at the Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. He attended school in Nodaway and graduated in 1931. He worked on various farms and in coal mines and also for the Burlington Railroad. He served several years in the National Guard as a member of Company F. On May 30, 1937, Mr. Devine married Frances Kathryn Marr at Savannah, Missouri. They moved to their first farm in 1944 and continued farming until his retirement due to ill health. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister, who died in infancy. Mr. Devine is survived by his wife of Red Oak; three children, Kathryn Herman and her husband Gerald of Villisca, Marilyn Nelson of Bellevue, Neb., and James and his wife Sharolyn of Papillion, Neb.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Clara Devine and Delia Devine, both of Council Bluffs, and Marguerite Neal of Kansas City, Mo. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 18, at Sutphen-Beaty Funeral Home in Villisca with Rev. Sandra Wainwright officiating. Burial was in the Nodaway Cemetery, Nodaway. Casket bearers were Joe Devine, Ryan Devine, Jeff Herman, Norman Devine, Kevin Selders, Ron Siefering, Donnie Nelson and Randy Stutzman. Adams County Free Press, June 25, 1992, page 2
