Laurie, 67, 801 South Seventh street, wife of Alexander Laurie, died early yesterday at the Atchison hospital. She entered the hospital Dec. 30 after suffering a broken hip in a fall at her home. Mrs. Laurie suffered a stroke five years ago and had been in poor health since. She was born Aug. 8, 1897, in Falls City, Neb., a daughter of Levi and Lena Lippold Zurbrick. Her father was a farmer and a roundhouse employe of the Missouri Pacific. She was reared in Falls City and was graduated from high school there. May 10, 1916, she was married to Mr. Laurie in Kansas City. During their married life they lived in Falls City, St. Louis, Kansas City and Atchison. After his retirement five years ago as mechanical forces timekeeper in Kansas City for the Kansas City Southern railroad, they move to Atchison. Mr. Laurie worked for railroads 29 years and for the Interstate Commence Commission 15 years. Mrs. Laurie was a member of the Christian church of Atchison and was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She had many friends and was always thoughtful of others. Besides her husband of the home she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Caroline Laurie Paydon, and a granddaughter, Dianne Paydon, Atchison High school sophomore, both of the home; and a brother, Lloyd Zurbrick, Kansas City. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Stanton chapel, the Rev. Harold Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the Stanton funeral home.
