Description	:	Stratford Courier April 27, 1950 FORMER STRATFORD RESIDENT DIED IN DES MOINES SATURDAY Ms. Anna Hall, 88, a one-time resident of Stratford, passed away Saturday afternoon in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Willia Hartshorn at Des Moines, after a lingering illness. Her husband preceded her in death in 1930. She is survived by three sons, two daughters, three sisters, one brother, ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and hosts of friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the South Marion Methodist church, with the Rev. A.G. Heddle officiating. Interment was made in the South Marion cemetery. Stratford Courier May 4, 1950 Obituary Mrs. Anna Hall Mrs. Anna Hall was born in Sweden Dec. 27, 1861, and passed away from this life after a lingering illness in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emma Hartshorn, at Des Moines, Iowa, April 22, 1950, at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 26 days. She came to Hamilton County and to the community of Stratford in 1884. She was united in marriage to Edward Hall August 25, 1887, and they made their home near Stratford until they moved to town in 1920. To this union five children were born - three sons and two daughters. She had been a member of the South Marion church for 63 years and was active in her church work until her health failed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hall, who passed away in 1930. She leaves to mourn her departure and cherish her memory, three sons and two daughters: Elmer and Martin of Pasadena, Calif., Edgar of Stratford, Mrs. Emma Hartshorn of Des Moines, and Mrs. Ida Pomeroy of Stratford; three sisters, Miss Ida Borg, Mrs. John Johnson and Mrs. W.E. Olson, all of Des Moines, and one brother, August Borg, of Ida Grove. Also ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of friends. "You're not forgotten, Mother, dear Nor ever shall you be; As long as life and memory last We shall remember thee." Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 25, at 10:30 a.m., from the Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Des Moines, Iowa, conducted by the Rev. C. Wells, pastor of the Union Park Methodist Church. A Swedish hymn was sung by Clifford Bloom and a solo by Robert Borg. Services were held at the South Marion church at Stratford at 2 o'clock p.m. with the Rev. A.G. Heddle officiating. Solos for the services were sung by Mrs. Carl Borg and Mrs. Verlyn Fry. Interment was made in the South Marion Cemetery. The pallbearers were nephews of the deceased: J.S. Borg, Leonard Borg, Oscar Borg, Edwin Borg, Carl Johnson and Emil Spong.
