Auburn, Iowa, May 15 —Anna Janette Newton was born at Watkins, Iowa, on January 28, 1879, and died-at her home. near Mt. Auburn May 13, 1911, the cause of death being pneumonia. She was married to Clarence Mayhew January 31, 1900. who with two small boys, Elmer and Chester, are left to mourn a loving wife and mother. Auburn, Iowa, May 15 —Anna Janette Newton was born at Watkins, Iowa, on January 28, 1879, and died-at her home. near Mt. Auburn May 13, 1911, the cause of death being pneumonia. She was married to Clarence Mayhew January 31, 1900. who with two small boys, Elmer and Chester, are left to mourn a loving wife and mother. She also leaves an aged mother, two sisters and four brothers, besides numerous other relatives. Shortly after her marriage she and her husband began housekeeping on n farm near Watkins, Iowa, and later moved to a farm near Mt. Auburn, where they now had one of the best Improved places In the township. She united with the Presbyterian church at Watkins In 1896 and In 1901 transferred her membership to the Pratt Creek U.P. church of this place, and was a loyal worker In the church. She was loved by all who knew her. She will not only be missed In her home, which was a happy one, but by her neighbors and the members of the church, for she was ever ready to lend a helpful hand wherever help was needed. Only a, few days before she was taken sick, she had nursed her little son Chester through a siege of pneumonia, and he was well on the road to recovery when she took the same disease and after six days' Illness was called to her home above, where later on husband and children will meet her to part no more. Her funeral will be held at the home on Tuesday morning' after" which her remains will be taken In a ‘special train to Watkins Iowa, where burial services will be held at the Watkins church Tuesday afternoon, after which the remains will be laid to rest: In the cemetery near that place. The family and relatives have the sympathy of scores of friends and neighbors In their sad bereavement.
