July 28, 1947 - Carroll Times Herald - Miss Anna Katherine (Kate) Beyer, who had lived in Carroll 40 years, died suddenly of a heart attack about 8 o'clock yesterday morning at the home of Miss Mary Schultes, where she had resided for the last year. Miss Beyer, daughter of the late Michael and Katherine Beyer, was born September 22, 1881, at Lyons, Ia. She was a small girl when her parents brought their family to Carroll county and located on a farm west of Mount Carmel. Later they moved to the home place northwest of Carroll. Surviving are two brothers and three sisters: Joe and Nick Beyer, Carroll; Mrs. B.H. Schroeder (Elizabeth), Carroll; Mrs. Frank Schulte (Mary), Auburn, and Mrs. Al Stoye (Sarah), Benton Harbor, Mich. One of a family of twelve children, Miss Beyer was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters: Frank, Michael, John, George, and Theresa Beyer and Mrs. Magdalene Schroeder. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul's church.
