April 11, 1932 - Carroll Daily Herald - Miss Teresa Beyer, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Michael Beyer, died shortly after midnight yesterday in St Anthony hospital. Miss Beyer had been visiting at the Morrie Hurley home in Sioux City where she was taken ill and she came home a week ago Saturday. Sunday afternoon she went to the hospital and the following morning underwent a serious operation. She was conscious to the last and talked with her brothers and sisters. Funeral services have not yet been arranged as the family are awaiting word from distant relatives. Teresa Beyer was born Dec 7, 1889 at Mount Carmel and later moved with her parents to Carroll where most of her life was spent. She was educated in the Ss Peter and Paul's schools and after the death of her mother, Feb 22, 1918, kept house for her father and faithfully cared for him during his last illness. He died Dec 22, 1928, and since that time she and her sister, Miss Cathrine Beyer, have made their home together at 102 North Carroll street. She was one of a family of 12 children. Those surviving are Miss Catherine Beyer; Mrs B.H. Schroeder (Elizabeth) of Arcadia; Mrs F.H. Schulte (Mary) of Auburn; Miss Sarah Ann Beyer of Rochester, MN, now on the Mayo yacht in the south; Joseph Beyer and Nich Beyer of Carroll. Those who preceded their sister in death are Mrs Magdalene Schroeder of Arcadia, John, Michael, George, and Frank Beyer. She also leaves 44 nieces and nephews. Miss Beyer had a cheery disposition and was energetic, faithfully performing all her home duties and was much beloved by her nieces and nephews.
