Read More	Anna Lucille (Teaford) Erickson, 100 years of age, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020, at Holdrege Memorial Homes. Lucille was born on March 3, 1920 to William H. and Hazel (Skiles) Teaford on the farm site homesteaded by her grandparents, G. S. & Lucinda Skiles, in Harlan County, Nebraska near Republican City, Nebraska. Lucille attended grade school at District #72 and graduated from Huntley High School with the class of 1937. Following her graduation, she attended Hastings Business College at Hastings, Nebraska. She then moved to Holdrege where she was employed in the offices of the Phelps County Creamery and Produce Company. On January 24, 1942 Lucille was united in marriage to D. Wayne Erickson in the chapel located at Camp San Luis Obispo, California. Due to Wayne’s military service, the couple made their home in San Luis Obispo, Van Nuys and Pasadena, California and then moved to Ozark, Alabama, Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Durham, North Carolina. When Wayne was deployed to serve in WWII in the European Theater with the 35th Division, Lucille moved back to Holdrege, and began working at the Rowley Fruit Company. The family was blessed with two children: Jean and Steven. Lucille later began working as the bookkeeper for KHOL-TV for five years; before becoming an employee for the First National Bank of Holdrege. She retired in 1985, following many years of service as the Internal Auditing Officer. Lucille was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Huntley in 1936 and later transferred her membership to the Holdrege First United Methodist Church. She served as a member and president of the United Methodist Women and the Naomi Group and also participated in other offices of the church. Lucille was involved with the Concordia Chapter #97 Order of the Eastern Star, serving as the Worthy Matron for three terms, as well as holding various other offices. Lucille was also a Pioneer District Past Matron, serving as the secretary and president; and was a Grand Representative of Nebraska in New Hampshire for two years. Lucille was also involved with the Phelps County Democratic Women, the American Cancer Society for over 25 years and was a 60 year plus member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a Charter Member of the Phelps County Historical Society and the Holdrege YMCA and served as a volunteer with her therapy dog, Mandy, at nursing homes and the Richard Young Hospital in Kearney. Lucille was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was always the most important part of her life. Lucille and her late husband, Wayne, enjoyed traveling, not only in the U.S. but also abroad. They also enjoyed camping with friends. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, D. Wayne Erickson, in 2006, her sister, Lois, her brother, Lloyd, and her granddaughter, Lisa Kudlacz. Lucille leaves to mourn her passing, but celebrate her life, her daughter, Jean M. Beckman, and her husband, Bruce, of Victor, Colorado; her son, Steven W. Erickson, and his wife, Jane, of Madison, Ohio; eight grandchildren: Eric Jochens and his wife, Jenn, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Jim Erickson and his wife, Christine, of Victoria, Minnesota; John Erickson and his wife, Annette, of Louisville, Kentucky; Andrew Erickson and his wife, Jennifer, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; James T. Curran of Gardner, Kansas; Yumi Gumont and her husband, Joe, of Perry, Ohio; Megumi Webb and her husband, Steve, of Adelaide, Australia; J.B. Wilson of Louisville, Kentucky; and 25 great-grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends. Private Family Funeral Services for Lucille Erickson will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Nora Mendyk officiating. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege. The Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege is in charge of the arrangements.
