Description	:	Anna Mae Purdy died peacefully on Tuesday October 27th at Country Home Assisted Living in Harwood at the age of 97. Known to many as "Griff", she was born on August 3rd, 1918 in Church Hill MD to the late William T. and Nellie Green Griffin. She attended Centreville High School and graduated in 1935 from Tri-County High in Queen Anne. In 1944 she married Frank E. After Mr. Patrick died in... Read More	Anna Mae Purdy died peacefully on Tuesday October 27th at Country Home Assisted Living in Harwood at the age of 97. Known to many as "Griff", she was born on August 3rd, 1918 in Church Hill MD to the late William T. and Nellie Green Griffin. She attended Centreville High School and graduated in 1935 from Tri-County High in Queen Anne. In 1944 she married Frank E. Patrick and they resided in Easton where they ran a small neighborhood grocery store until 1952. Afterward she worked at several retail clothing stores and sold Avon for 20 years. After Mr. Patrick died in 1967, she and a friend opened a small dress shop called "Two P's" until 1980. In 1982 she married Henry H. Purdy also of Easton. After Mr. Purdy's death in 2004 she moved to Park View Apartments. She later moved to live with her son in Harwood, MD, and then to assisted living. Mrs. Purdy was a member of St. Marks Methodist Church in Easton and a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, Canada and Mexico. She also loved crafts, puzzles and the Orioles. She is survived by her son Dale L. Patrick (Michelle) and grandchildren Trilby Papineau (Pat), Casey Patrick, Beth Ziegler (Bob), Steven Patrick and David Patrick. In addition she is also survived by two step children, Margaret Lednum (Ira) and Henry H. Purdy Jr., a special niece Roberta Toms and an extended family of relatives. She is predeceased by both husbands, three brothers Wm. K. Griffin, Guyther Griffin and John S. Griffin and a step-son Frank E. Patrick Jr. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 11 AM at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., 200 S. Harrison St., Easton, MD, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Easton.
