Description	:	Mrs. Fred Jepsen died Sunday morning, August 30, at her home in Schleswig, following a few days of illness. She had attained the age of 78 years, 3 months, and 27 days. Mrs. Jepsen, nee Anna Margaretha Marquardt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry P. Marquardt, was born May 3, 1858 in Hannerare, Germany. At the age of one year, in 1859, she came with her parents to this country and they located in Valpariso, Ind. Read More	Mrs. Fred Jepsen died Sunday morning, August 30, at her home in Schleswig, following a few days of illness. She had attained the age of 78 years, 3 months, and 27 days. Mrs. Jepsen, nee Anna Margaretha Marquardt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry P. Marquardt, was born May 3, 1858 in Hannerare, Germany. At the age of one year, in 1859, she came with her parents to this country and they located in Valpariso, Ind. She grew to young womanhood and in 187? the family came to Iowa, and took up farming in Goodrich township, Crawford County. On July 1, 1877 she was united in marriage with Fred Jepsen, and to this union 11 children were born. They farmed in Goodrich township until 192? when they retired from farm life and moved to Schleswig to spend their declining years. On July 1, 1927 Mr. and Mrs. Jepsen celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Mr. Jepsen died March 18, 1928. She leaves to mourn, her children, namely: Emma, Mrs. Jurgen Gregosches, Schleswig; Henry, Goodrich Township; Herman, Hanover township; Willie, Goodrich Township; Ella, Mrs. Adolph Kuenholdt, Hanover Township; Amanda, Mrs. Hans Pickel, Goodrich Township; and Edward, Hanover Township. Four children preceded her in death. Besides the above she is survived by 25 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, one brother, Wm. Marquardt, Denison; one sister, Mrs. Claus Ullrich of Denison; and two sisters-in-law Mrs. Minnie Marquardt of Denison and Mrs. Cecelia Jepsen of Schleswig. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 1:30 at the house and at 2:00 o'clock in the Friedens Ev. Church in charge of Rev. Rinne. Burial in Morgan cemetery.
