They were the parents of Leona Lucy, Lawrence, Albert, Margaret, Eleanor, Coletta, Leo, Raymond, Mary Ann, and William. March 5, 1945 - Carroll Times Herald - Mrs. William Siepker, 54, passed away at her home two and one half miles southwest of Carroll at 3:45 this morning after a linger illness. She had been bedfast for the last two months. Funeral services are to be at 9 o'clock Thursday morning at SS. Peter and Paul's church, with the Rev. Father Lambert Schenkelberg officiating at the requiem mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The body will be returned to the family home at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon from the Sharp Funeral home, and will rest there until the hour of the rites. The rosary, led by the Rev. Father Sehenkelberg, will be prayed at the family home at 8 o'clock Wednesday evening. Members of the Christian Mothers Sodality will attend in a group. Mrs. Siepker, whose maiden name was Anna Mattes, was born Sept 12, 1890 in Roselle township. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Mattes, well known pioneers of the community. She married William Siepker Feb 22, 1911 in Ss. Peter and Pauls church with Mr Siepker's uncle, the Rev Father Bernard Siepker of Waunakee, WI, performing the ceremony. For the first two years after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Siepker lived on a farm west of Carroll, moving from there to their present home. They were the parents of 10 children, all of whom are living: Mrs. Leon Louis (Leona), Lawrence, Albert and Mrs. Alois Schrad (Margaret), of Carroll; Eleanor, Colette, Leo, Raymond, Mary Ann and William Jr. at home. Besides her husband and children Mrs. Siepker leaves 11 grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs. John Klocke (Elizabeth), Mrs. George Schumacher (Mary), and Misses Lena and Lucy Mattes of Carroll, and two brothers: John Mattes of Carroll and Matt Mattes of Iowa City. Two brothers, Steve and Henry, preceded her in death. Mrs. Siepker, a member of Ss. Peter and Pauls church, died well fortified with the last sacraments.
