He married Anna Mattes on 22 FEB 1911 in Carroll County, Iowa. They were the parents of Leona Lucy, Lawrence, Albert, Margaret, Eleanor, Coletta, Leo, Raymond, Mary Ann, and William. Nov 2, 1960 - Carroll Daily Times - William Siepker, 77, who lived at 220 West 12th Street, Carroll, died about 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, as result of a heart condition at the Carroll Street railroad crossing. Mr. Siepker, who was walking across the tracks, collapsed and was taken, to St. Anthony Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Requiem mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at SS. Peter and Paul Church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Frank H. Greteman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The body is resting at the Sharp Funeral Home, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday. Rosaries will be recited at 3, 8, and 9 p.m. Thursday, and at 8 and 9 p.m. Friday. The 8 p.m. rosary Friday will be led by Msgr. Greteman. Mr. Siepker, son of John and Minnie Siepker, was born northwest of Carroll Feb. 21, 1883. As a young man he homesteaded for several years near Pierre, S.D., then moving back to Carroll County to farm. He was married Feb. 22, 1911, to Anna Marie Mattes at SS. Peter and Paul Church, with his uncle, the Rev. Bernard Siepker, officiating at the marriage. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Siepker farmed for a year one mile west of Carroll, then moving to the Siepker farm two miles west on Old Highway 30 and one-half mile south of Carroll, where they remained until Mrs. Siepker's death in 1945. Mr. Siepker retired and moved to the present home on 12th Street in 1948. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church and the Holy Name Society of the parish. The following children survive: Mrs. Leon (Leona) Louis, Lawrence, Albert, Mrs. A.G. (Margaret) Schrad, Mrs. Maurice (Collette) Potthoff, Leo, Ray, and William Jr., all of Carroll; Mrs. Don (Eleanor) Smith, Omaha, Neb.; and Mrs. Wayne (Mary Ann) Schlorholtz, Strousburg, Pa. Also surviving are 59 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers; Joseph Siepker, Laurens; John Siepker, Roselle; Louis Siepker, San Diego, Calif.; and George Siepker, Des Moines; and one sister, Mrs. Ed Wiese, Austin, Minn. Besides his wife, Mr. Siepker was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
