Description	:	Stratford Courier January 25, 1945 Obituary Mrs. Anna Berglund Anna Olson was born in Edsbyn, Hälsingland, Sweden, April 16, 1863 and at her death on Sunday, Jan. 21, 1945, was 81 years, 9 months, 5 days old. Her death occurred at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Luther Anderson. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Sweden at the age of 14 years and came to America on May 30, 1882. Her death occurred at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Luther Anderson. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Sweden at the age of 14 years and came to America on May 30, 1882. On June 8, 1882, she was united in marriage with Peter Berglund. Ten children were born of this marriage. They are: Mrs. Clara Erickson, Mrs. Nellie Engstrom, who died in 1921, Mrs. Anna Anderson, Mrs. Gust Erickson, Mrs. Luther Anderson, Mrs. Fred Carlberg, Olof Berglund, all of Stratford, Mrs. Clem Iles of Webster City, Mrs. Hans Knuth of Hanaska, Minn. One daughter, Emma, died in infancy. Her husband died in 1900 leaving the wife and mother to rear a large family of children alone. Grandma Berglund had been active and in good health until her last illness. During the last few months of her life it had been her wish to pass on to her heavenly reward. On the day of her death word was received of the death in action of her grandson, Sgt. Leonard Anderson, who was killed somewhere in France on Jan. 3, 1945. The sympathy of many friends is extended to the sorrowing relatives. Last rites were held in the Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock following an earlier service held at the Luther Anderson home, both of which were conducted by the Rev. F.W. Hanson. At the home service the Rev. Mr. Hanson sang, "I Have a Friend, So Patient." The Rev. Mr. Hanson used for his text the words found in I Timothy 6:19 and used for his theme, "The Good Investment." Mrs. Gust Berglund and Miss Velva Berglund sang "There's a Land That is Fairer Than Day," "Nearer, Still Nearer," and "Sweet Hour of Prayer," Mrs. Lloyd Angstrom playing the accompaniments. Interment was made in Oakwood Cemetery, the casket bearers being Emil Erickson, Berkley Berglund, Vernie Carlberg, Lester Anderson, Oscar Engstrom and Melvin Engstrom.
