Anna Page Olson, daughter of August Page and Charlotte Anderson and one of a family of twelve children was born on May 26th, 1870, in the state of Illinois and came to Nebraska with her parents at the age of two years and settled on a farm in Hamilton county directly across the Platte River from Chapman, She lived in that neighborhood with her parents and attended the nearby school where she received her grade school education. On November 28, 1896, she was united in marriage to Carl G. Olson at Grand Island, Nebr. Immediately after their marriage they started housekeeping on the farm, known at that time as the Ewing place, just one mile west of Central City where they resided for eleven years. Following their stay in Central City, they spent one year in York community and one year in Omaha, returning to Central City where they have resided until her passing on February 23, 1949, with the exception of a short time spent on a farm southwest of Clarks. At the time she and her husband returned to Central City, from Omaha, they were employed by the T. B. Hord Co., as managers of one or more of their farms, responsibility they fulfilled for a period of twenty-three years. A record seldom equaled. She and her husband were both faithful to their responsibilities and Mr. and Mrs. Olson will long be remembered in the minds of the boys that were privileged to work with them and for them while they were managing the farms. They were kind and generous with their expressions of praise when one did his work well. They were father and mother to all who worked with them at such an early age. Mrs. Olson is survived by her husband, one daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. and Mrs. Arthur Lovejoy, one grandson, Howard Lovejoy and his wife, one great-granddaughter, Carrolyn Mae, all of Central City. One sister, Mrs. A. D. Lear, Central City, and one brother [sic], Hubert R. Page and wife of Omaha, Nebraska. Five brothers and four sisters and her parents proceeded her in death. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 26, at Solt's Chapel with Rev. O. W. Carrell officiating. Pallbearers were: Charles and Gilbert Necker, Frank Zmek, Lee Van Zant, Lou Porter, Harry Foagland. Mrs. John Hruza, Jr., sang two solos, "Good Night" and "Good Morning," accompanied by Mrs. Thomas Shields, Jr. Flower bearers were: Mrs. Chas. Necker, Mrs. Gilbert Necker, Mrs. Walter Artlip, and Mrs. James Nichol. Burial was in the Central City cemetery. ____________________
