She lived by herself in a little home just across the block from her daughter, Mrs. J. Froehlich. On the morning of her attack, she arose as usual and built a fire. When her daughter got up as was her practice, she looked toward her mother's home and saw smoke coming from the chimney and supposed that all was well, when shortly after she was found on her bed, where she managed to pull herself, suffering from paralysis. She was born in Holstein, Germany Feb. 8 1827 and was at the time of her death, 82 years, 11 months and 5 days old. She came to America in 1888 and lived at Davenport, Ia., and Arthur, Ill., and came from there to Loup City about 1889. She leaves 6 children, two daughters in Germany, 1 at Grand Island and 1 at Loup City, and 2 sons, 1 at Sherbourn, Minn., and 1 at Davenport, Ia. She was burried (sic) from the German church, Rev.
