Description	:	Anna Podhaski Beckley Is Dead. Mrs. Anna Podhaski Beckley died suddenly last Monday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Ruml in Cedar Rapids. When she retired at 9 o'clock she complained of not feeling well, and stated that she expected to take a pain tablet for a headache. At midnight Mr. Ruml heard her moaning in her room and called a physician, but she died a few minutes after his arrival. Mrs. Anna Podhaski Beckley died suddenly last Monday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Ruml in Cedar Rapids. When she retired at 9 o'clock she complained of not feeling well, and stated that she expected to take a pain tablet for a headache. At midnight Mr. Ruml heard her moaning in her room and called a physician, but she died a few minutes after his arrival. Mrs. Beckley had suffered with diabetes for a good many years, and it is thought by her sons that- this disease was the cause of her death. Mrs Beckley- was a former resident of Montlcello and during the past four years had made her home in Cedar Rapids. She is survived by four sons: Frank, William and Edward, of Monticello, and Joseph Podhaski, of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by her sisters, Mrs. Antonia Smahel of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Frances Weber of California; also by sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Her maiden name was Anna Shimbersky. She was born in Austria, Bohemia, in June, 1851, and was therefore 77 years of age at the time of her death. She came to the United States with her parents in 1857 and settled on a farm near Ely. She was married to Frank J. Podhaski, July 6, 1867. They lived in Cedar Rapids for a year following their marriage and then came to Monticello where Mr. Podhaski engaged in the harness business. The family later moved to Wyoming, where Mr. Podhaski died, April 28. 1899. A number of years later, Mrs. Podhaski was married to, James Beckley of Missouri Valley, who died fifteen years ago. The funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Podhaski, and were in charge of Rev. Albert E. Coe, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery. Monticello Express February 23, 1928.
