Description	:	Anne Mary (Marie) Kobliska, daughter of Vaclav Kobliska & Eleonora Bruna, was born April 12, 1861 in Spillville, Winneshiek County, Iowa. She died April 7, 1941 at Protivin, Howard County, Iowa, aged 79 years, 11 months and 25 days, and was buried there in the Holy Trinity Church Cemetery. Read More	Anne Mary (Marie) Kobliska, daughter of Vaclav Kobliska & Eleonora Bruna, was born April 12, 1861 in Spillville, Winneshiek County, Iowa. She died April 7, 1941 at Protivin, Howard County, Iowa, aged 79 years, 11 months and 25 days, and was buried there in the Holy Trinity Church Cemetery. On February 9, 1879, Mary was united in marriage to Frank Praska, at Spillville, Iowa. Frank was born 1852, in Bohemia, possibly the son of Frank and Catharine Praska. At the age of 18 Frank came by himself to America and secured employment, smelting iron in an iron works at Cleveland, Ohio. Two years later he moved to Deerfield Township, Chicaksaw County, Iowa, where he established a farm. He was a successful farmer and saved enough money for the passage of his parents and brothers and sisters to the United States. He died September 9, 1935, at Provitin, Howard County, Iowa, where he had lived since 1893. Their children were: Joseph L. born 9 Mar 1880, died 12 Jan 1937 Anne Mayme (Mary) 1898 1990 Ludmilla A. Frank J. Praska married Bessie. He died July 1, 1965 aged 76 years, 11 months and 15 days. Louis Praska died in January 1980 at Cresco, Howard County, Iowa aged about 85 years and 6 months. Louis K. Praska, married A. Florence and died November 1979 at Elma, Howard County, Iowa, aged 95 years and 1 month. James F. Praska married Cecelia Panoch. William J. Praska married Rose. He died May 21, 1994 at Cresco, Howard County, Iowa, aged 94 years, 8 months and 15 days. In the 1880 U.S. Census, Frank Praska was a 28 year old farmer living in Deerfield Township, Chickasaw County, Iowa, with his 20 year old wife Mary and their three months old son Joseph Praska. Three other Praska families were listed in the 1880 US Census for Deerfield Township, Chickasaw County, Iowa, as follows: James Praska, age 59; his wife Mary, age 43; and children Albert, age 20; Katy, age 17; Joseph; age 14; and James, 3 months of age born in February 1880. All were born in Bohemia except for James who was born in Iowa. Their were family 129/129, on page 13, lines 20-25. Frank Praska, age 62; his wife Catharine, age 57; and children Joseph, age 25; James, age 20; and Anna, age 15. All were born in Bohemia. They were family 133/133, on page 13, lines 42-46. John Praska, age 31; his wife Elizabeth, age 21; and children Joseph, age 2, and John, age 1. John was born in Bohemia, his wife in Iowa of Bohemian immigrants, and the two children were born in Iowa. They were family 135/135, on page 15, lines 6-9. Obituary Mary Praska Died Five Days Before 80th Birthday Funeral services were held for Mrs. Mary Praska, 79, who died on April 7 at her home in Protivin five days before her 80th birthday, after a two weeks illness. Services were held in the morning from the Holy Trinity church and the Rev. W, Hradecky officiated. The pallbearers were Jerome, Roger, Raymound, Francis, Reuben and Leonard Praska, all grandsons. A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vaclar Kobliska, Mary Kobliska was born in Spillville, Iowa, April 12, 1861. She was married to Frank Praska in Spillville, and they settled first on a farm near Spillville and moved to Protivin in 1920. Mr. Praska died in 1935, and a son Joseph died in 1937. The children who survive are Mrs. Albert Novak, Jr., of Spillville, Louis, Frank, James and Will Praska, Mrs. Leonard Peck, and Mr. and Mrs. William Hosek, all of the vicinity of Cresco and Protivin. One sister, Mrs. Frank W. Jirak of Protivin and two brothers Frank Kobliska of Alta Vista and Joseph of Chetek, Wisconsin also survive. [Published in a Cresco, Iowa Newspaper.]
