Annie McQuire was born March 18, 1838 at Ross More, County Sligo, Ireland. She came to America in 1858 and July 1, 1860 was married to Anthony Loftus. They came to Parkersville, Morris County, Kansas in 1869 and two years later removed to Cloud County, where they have since lived. Annie McQuire was born March 18, 1838 at Ross More, County Sligo, Ireland. She came to America in 1858 and July 1, 1860 was married to Anthony Loftus. They came to Parkersville, Morris County, Kansas in 1869 and two years later removed to Cloud County, where they have since lived. Coming to this part of Kansas in the early days Mrs. Loftus saw much of the privations and straits of the first settlers and was open-handed and generous among them. She has always been a warm-hearted and kind neighbor and a huge circle of friends mourn her loss. Her husband and two sons, Thos. and M.M. survive her. The funeral took place at the Catholic church at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
