They had 9 children in addition to Albert: Myron, Gladys (Svensdon), Verta (Corman), Alvin, Carl, Kenneth, Blanche (Bridwell), Delbert, and Betty Jane (Frey) (Submitted by Jean Jorgensen) "Ansophia Swanson Olsen, one of six children, was born to Nels John and Agneta Swanson, Aug. 15, 1889, and died May 30 at the Good Samaritan Hospital at Garden Grove, Calif. She was 86 years, 9 months and 16 days of age. She came with her parents from Sweden at the age of three years. March 11, 1909, she was united in marriage to Soren Olsen. To this union nine children were born. The family for many years resided on a farm near Abdal. Mrs. Olsen spent most of the past 20 years with her two daughters in California, much of this time being with her daughter, Mrs. D.M. Frey (Betty), at Garden Grove. Preceding her in death were her husband, Soren, who died in August, 1944; three sisters, Hulda Hudson, Rudina Brainard and Eureka, who as a little child, was buried at sea on their way to America; one brother, Carl Swanson; and two grandsons, Ronald and Junior Corman. Survivors are her children, Mrs. Chris Svendsen (Gladys) of Hardy, Mrs. Wilson Corman (Verda) of Santa Ana, Calif., Alvin Olsen of Wendell, Idaho, Myron Olsen of Posen, Mich., Carl Olsen of Springfield, Ohio, Kenneth Olsen of Trenton, Mich., Mrs. Ernest Bridwell (Blanche) of Superior, Delbert Olsen of Wyandotte, Mich., Mrs. D.M. Frey (Betty) of Garden Grove, Calif. and included in the family, one step-son, Albert Olsen, Wyandotte, Mich., one sister, Therasa Tumbelson, North Platte; 24 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces; and a host of friends. She was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Funeral services were Friday at 10 a.m. at the Montgomery-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Peter Trucano officiating.
