Tietjens on April 27, 1836 in Germany. Their Children: Joachim, Jurgen, Johann, Anna, Marx, Hans, Catharina, and Wilhelm. She emigrated to America with her husband and children leaving on May 15, 1856 on the ship Ann Washburn, over the port Hamburg and arrived in the port in New York. The ocean crossing took seven weeks on a sailing vessel. After landing in New York they went to Lyons, Clinton County, Iowa....
