NOTT DIES, RITES SUNDAY Services to be Held at Hoskins Funeral Home At 2:30 p.m. Arbuth Admal (sic. a/k/a Adnial) Nott, who was born Sept. 4, 1867, in Henry county, Iowa, died last evening at 11 o'clock at his home south of Fairfield. He had been in failing health for about a year and had been seriously ill for three weeks. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Elsie Freshwater, Mrs. L. C. Bogardus, W. H. Nott, Mrs. Harold Angstead, Mrs. Lewis Lunbeck, of Fairfield. He is also survived by twleve (sic) grandchildren, and two great grandchildren and four brothers and four sisters. He was one of twenty children. The body was taken to the Hoskins Funeral Home, where the services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m., in charge of Rev. S. P. Williamson. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. ------------------------ Fairfield Daily Ledger Wed. July 24, 1935 Pg. 5 Col. 2 OBITUARY A.A. NOTT Arbuth Admal (sic. Adnial) Nott, son of Henry and Mary Jane Barber Nott, was born in Henry county, Iowa, Sept. 4, 1867 and grew to manhood in that community. He was united in marriage Sept. 3, 1889 to Sadie M. Newlon, and to this union were born six children, all of home, with the wife, survive. The children are Mrs. Elsie Freshwater, Mrs. Mamie Bogardus, Mr. William Nott, Mrs. Nellie Angstead, Mrs. Anna Hartman, Mrs. Bessie Lunbeck, all residing in Fairfield. He leaves twelve granchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Nott have spent most of their married life in Fairfield and vicinity where they reared their family. He was a devoted husband and father and was ever mindful of his children and their families. Four brothers and five sisters also survive to mourn his passing. Aron Nott, Ollie,Clayton Nott, Batavia, Milo Nott, Bulington, Wash., Ray Nott, St. Joseph, Mo., Mrs. Minda Ethington, Edgar, Nebraska, Mrs. Eunice Beuston, Burlington, Wash., Mrs. Josie Ross, Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Roxie Williams, Gravity, Iowa,Mrs. Flossie Frum, Omaha, Nebraska. Mr. Nott has been in failing health for the past year but his condition became critical the last three weeks. He bore his intense suffering until the end came Friday night at eleven o'clock July 19. His sister, Mrs. Flossie Frum, a trained nurse tenderly cared for him during his last illness. Mr. Nott was ever a kind and generous friend and neighbor and will be greatly missed by his family, neighbors, and friends. Funeral services were held at the Hoskins funeral home on Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. S. P. Williamson, minister of the First Christian church of Fairfield. Two vocal numbers "Asleep in Jesus" and "in the Garden" were sung by Mrs. Glen Bates and G. Mulkins with Mrs. Pagel at the piano. The remains were interred in Evergreen cemetery.
