We regret the condition of our old friend who has made North Platte his home for so many years and who is so well and favorably known to so many of our people. North Platte Western Nebraskian, January 1923: With the passing of A. R. Adamson, on January 26th, North Platte not only lost one of its oldest citizens but the well known Historian who wrote North Platte and Its Associations in 1910. He dedicated his book to the memory of his wife Elizabeth who passed away in 1907. Though the author says nothing about his own life, he gives us a great book about the settlers. To this day Mr. Adamson is quoted when it comes to the history of North Platte. As it was noted when this gentleman came to North Platte, he was a "Worthy Citizen". January 29, 1923 The passing of A. R. Adamson last Friday morning took one of the oldest citizens of this city from a retired life after many years of activity. Mr. Adamson came to North Platte about fifty years ago and was active in early history of her best institutions. He was a Union Paciic pensioner and highly respected by those who knew him. His immediate family consists of his children, Mr. and Mrs. James Adamson, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Adamson, George Adamson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Adamson, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stoddard, Mr. and Mrs. Ben McMichael and Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Davis. (Ed: Also Mr. & Mrs. David Adamson.) The funeral was held Sunday at 2:30 with Rev. Paul Shenk officiating.
