Honorary pallbearers were James Harris, Carl Laffoon, William Dolan, George Webb, Dick Powell, Reuben Hamann, Charles Johnson, Frank Borse and William Fewkes. Thompson was born Feb. 17, 1898 at Merrill, Wis., to Louisa and William Thompson. A longtime resident of the Libby area, Thompson retired in 1968 after 52 years of service with the Great Northern Railway Company as a depot agent at Rexford and Troy. Thompson is survived by three daughters, Jean Phreaner, Richland, Wash.; Marion Speirs, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Frances Downing, Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Mrs. Dick (Mary) Powell and Mrs. Reuben (Tillie) Hamann, both of Troy; and six grandchildren, Tom and Judith Speirs; Kathleen, Lee Ann, and Jean Marie Phreaner, and Robert Downing. Postscript - Archie was a depot agent for the Great Northern Railway for 52 years in both Rexford and Troy. He was married first to Ruth Caroline Burpee and had two children - Jeanette Caroline Thompson Phreaner and Marion Ruth Thompson Speirs. Following his divorce from Ruth Burpee he subsequently married Alsie Opal (last name unknown) and had a third daughter - Frances Louise Thompson, later Downing.
