Interment was in the Orchard Cemetery at Orchard. Music was provided by Claude Cole, soloist, and Emily Herley, organist. Rev. Dale O'Connell officiated. Pallbearers were Richard Laursen, Douglas Laursen, David Laursen, Larry Lieb, Dennis Spangler, and Robert Boyd. Laursen was born in Orchard, Nerbaska, July 21, 1925, the son of Ira and Julia Laursen. He attended elementary school at the Pleasant Hill District and graduated from Orchard High School in 1942. He was uited in marriage to Vivian Derickson on January 4, 1946 in Creighton. To this union, a daughter, Jeanine, was born. Arden started farming at an early age and continued farming throughout his entire life. He was the third generation of his family to live on the farm where he, his wife, and his daughter lived since 1949. He was a member of the Masonic Diamond Lodge 291 of Orchard, the Elks Lodge of Yankton, South Dakota, and the American Charolais Association. Arden enjoyed all kinds of animals and was especially proud of his herd of Charolais cattle, which he raised since 1959. He was a fun-loving, full-of-life man, always ready to help others in a time of need. He was seriously injured in a farm accident February 13, 1985 and passed away at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, February 15, 1985. He leaves to mourn his wife, Vivian, and his daughter, Jeanine. He is also survived by his brother, Virgil and his wife Evelyn, three nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents.
