Read More	WILSON, ARLEANE C.—Arleane C. Wilson was born to Clarence Edward McCartney and Nellie Belle Lynn McCartney on October 19, 1915, in Chelsea township, Geneva. She passed away on June 9, 1998, at the Heritage Nursing Home where she had been a resident since May 16, at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 20 days. She was one of three children in the family. Arleane and her family lived on the farm in Chelsea Township east of Geneva, where she attended rural country school. She moved into town and lived with her grandmother McCartney while attending Geneva Public High School where she graduated with the Class of 1933. This class was to remain a very close bonded group who, for many years had a great time at the annual Geneva Alumni Banquet. During this annual May celebration, Arleane would often say that the “kids are coming back”, meaning her former classmates. Arleane and the McCartney family were long time members of the Congregational Church where she was active serving as a Deaconess, on the Memorial Committee and in other capacities where needed. On July 21, 1938, she was united in marriage to Clifford LeRoy Wilson of Geneva. From this marriage of 54 years, there are two children; daughter, Kaye and son, Lynn. Arleane was a loving companion for Cliff and supported him in all his endeavors. Cliff loved antiques and beautiful wood and Arleane traveled along with him in pursuit of this hobby. Cliff owned and operated Cliff’s Pool and Tavern and later was in partnership with Herb Dondlinger in operating a package liquor store. Arleane was always willing to help in any capacity needed. Her quick wit and vivacious personality endeared her to all she met and a friend made was a friend for life. In her quiet time at home, she took pleasure in reading and doing embroidery work. Family and their wellbeing held a special place in her heart, and throughout her life, she provided love and support for her children and husband. Arleane’s love for life was prioritized between family, home, church and friends. Her commitment to each was unconditional. She was a member of the Eastern Star and volunteered her time at the Geneva Senior Center. Lifelong friends were of special importance and always cherished. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Nellie McCartney; by her loving husband, Clifford Wilson; father and mother-in-law, Verl & Annie Wilson; sister, Hazel Hiatt, and brother, Francis McCartney. She is survived by daughter, Kay Wilson Hale and son-in-law, Stan Hale; son, Lynn Wilson and daughter-in-law Sandi Turek Wilson; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, June 13, at 11:00 a.m., from the Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Dennis Linton-Hendrick officiating. Musical selections were “The Lord’s Prayer” and “Wind Beneath My Wings.” Casket bearers were Patrick, Michael and Andrew Hale, Bob Ferguson, Tim Maciejewski and Phillip Skorupa.
