Description	:	Daughter of Jesse Shamp and Mary Jane Minner Shamp. No headstone in place for her as of 2011. She died at the Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield. According to her obituary, she had no known relatives. Several of her siblings are not accounted for in the Jesse Shamp Jr. family group sheet, so whether or not she was the last survivor of that family should be treated with some caution; information about any surviving siblings may not have been known to the nursing home staff or Raymond Funeral home. It is believed that she had a son, Paul Shamp, born and died in 1894. Evidently she was not married, and listed on the death record as "Miss Sally A Shamp". Am making relationship links to them with some caution that it isn't 100% certain (99.999%) that they are mother and son. A son was not mentioned in her obituary, but if she was an unmarried mother as of 1894 that omission is understandable. --------- Note: Her given name appears variously in different sources: Arminta in her obituary, Sallie Armetta in a 1981 Shamp family group sheet, and also as "Rimita" in Evergreen cemetery listings and on her Jefferson county death record. That said, will use the obituary version of "Arminta" for this memorial, since there is no headstone to provide clarification and the county home records that provided her name to the Jefferson county recorder's office may have used "Rimita" as a familiar version of her name to them. It is doubtful that anyone can fully reconcile the variations other than that the names can easily be mis-transcribed and interpreted. Although the death record is of legal standing, this contributor is using the obituary name of Arminta. The obituary used December 19, 1870 for her DOB. The death record used Dec. 29, 1870. Sigh.
