Description	:	Arnold W. Fuchs passed away on the evening of Monday, April 5, 1965, at the Physician’s Memorial Hospital at La Plata, Maryland. He had been involved in a minor car accident earlier in the day, but doctors determined that this had no bearing on his demise. It was determined that cause of death was from a stroke. Read More	Arnold W. Fuchs passed away on the evening of Monday, April 5, 1965, at the Physician’s Memorial Hospital at La Plata, Maryland. He had been involved in a minor car accident earlier in the day, but doctors determined that this had no bearing on his demise. It was determined that cause of death was from a stroke. Mr. Fuchs was the son of Mrs. Louise Fuchs of Tolley, who marked her 94th birthday on March 14th and passed away 11 days later. He was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota in 1893. His parents came to Tolley in 1905 and Arnold was always rather proud of the fact that he hauled the first load of lumber into Tolley for the first building in the new town. He considered himself an outdoor man and he loved farming. It was in October of 1916 that he married the former Miss Barbara Flick. In 1925 they moved to Maryland where he engaged in tobacco farming. Then after World War II, when the help situation became acute, he returned to Tolley and farmed there on a small scale for the past 16 years. He is survived by one brother and eight sisters, all of whom were mentioned in an earlier story. His wife also survives. The children include Mrs. James O. Cooksey and four sons, William A., Paul J., Lawrence S., and John F. The first four live at Indian Head and John is at Mechanicsville. There are 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. The rosary was recited on April 8th at La Plata Funeral Home and Mass was held at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church at Indian Head. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
