Description	:	Arthur E. Rave, 53, passed away at his home in Orange City April 12, after a year's illness. Funeral services were held last Thursday morning at the house and in the American Reformed Church, with Dr. H. V.JE. Stegeman conducting the service at the home and Rev. H. Colenbrander at the church. The body was taken to Ringsted, Iowa, and services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church there at 2:30, in charge of Rev. George Pallesen and Rev. W. O. Harper. Interment was in St. Paul's Cemetery there. Mr. Rave was station agent for the Northwestern Railroad. He worked for the road since April of 1914, and first entered the concern's employment as assistant at Radcliffe, Iowa. He went to Ringsted as agent for the company in 1917, and served there for 24 years. The family moved to Orange City in June, 1941 when he accepted the job as agent and Western Union, operator here, and was one of the community's popular citizens. Mr. Rave was born near Fairmont, Minn, on August 13, 1894, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rave. He was confirmed in the Lutheran Church, and attended the American Reformed Church here. He was married to Miss Velma Stansfaerry on August 23, 1924. Four children were born of this union, Frank, Donald and David who live here, and Beverley who died in Ringsted. Mr. Rave's parents, five brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife and three sons who remain in Orange City; and three sisters, Mrs. Laura Wenzel, Mrs. Martin Plath, and Mrs. Ed Stottenberg, and three brothers, Edward, Charles and Alfred, all of whom live in the vicinity of Fairmont. Many beautiful floral offerings were shown at the funeral, but several memorials by friends deserve mention. Memorial funds were given to the cancer drive, to missions, and to the organ fund of the Ringsted Lutheran Church. Sioux County Capital 1948-04-22.
