Read More	A well- known and highly respected resident of Greeley County, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jerry Murphy, in Spalding, Nebraska, at 12:30 on Wednesday, December 28, 1938, at the age of sixty years. He was born on February 18, 1878 at Lindsay, Nebraska and lived with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Connelly, until he enlisted in the Spanish-American War, Co. K. He spent two years in service in Manila and received an honorable discharge at the close of the war, after returning, he engaged in farming at Albion. While a resident ‘there, he was united in marriage to Mary Klassen, September 12, 1905. To this union were born ten children, three preceding him in death: Virgil, Loretto and Jerome. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, four sons, three daughters and two grand-sons: Mrs. Dolores Brown and Emmett of Ogallala, Merrill, Mrs. Helen Murphy, Patricia, Robert and Lewis of Spalding; his aged mother; brother, Francis, of Sidney, Nebr., Sylvester, Emmett, Earl and Mrs. Ruth Garrett of California, Vincent of Comstock, Mrs. H. ‘C. Anderson of Portland, Oregon. and Mrs. Oliver Gustin of Denver. Mr. Connelly had been In poor health for a number of years. He suffered his first stroke the 17th of March—since then his health has been falling ‘him. On the 26th of December he had another attack and on Wednesday, December 28th, he passed away. Arthur was a loving husband and father and a kind and charitable neighbor. His kindly presence will be missed by all who knew him. The funeral was held Friday, December 30, at St. Michael’s Church with Rev. Fr Galvin celebrant at a Requiem High Mass. ‘Pallbearers were: Otto haze, Joe Schriner, Frank Rossler, Wm. Glesinger, John McVeigh and Jake Bauer. Interment was in Calvery Cemetery. The American Legion took part in the burial services and conducted a military funeral. Those attending the funeral from a distance were; Mrs. Minnie Klassen, George and Earl of Albion, Lawrence of Fullerton and Leonard of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. John Wlaschin of Bradish, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Wlaschin, Mrs Pete Brown and son and Emmett Connelly of Ogallala, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Phil Eiche and children of Arcadia, Mr. Fred Lukassen of Kimball, Francis Connelly of Sidney, Mrs. Ruth Garrett of Oakland, Calif. and ‘Mrs. H. C. Andersen of Portland, Ore.
