Description	:	After a lingering illness, Mrs. Mary Connelly passed away on January 25, 1970 in St. John’s Hospital in Spalding, Nebraska. She had been hospitalized from April 28th until early September when she was moved to Spalding Manor where she lived until January 20th, when she became quite ill and entered the hospital again where she was under care until the time of her death. Read More	After a lingering illness, Mrs. Mary Connelly passed away on January 25, 1970 in St. John’s Hospital in Spalding, Nebraska. She had been hospitalized from April 28th until early September when she was moved to Spalding Manor where she lived until January 20th, when she became quite ill and entered the hospital again where she was under care until the time of her death. Mary Walters Connelly, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Walters was born in Holland and came to the United States when she was three years old. She lived the first few years of her life in and around. Bellwood, Nebraska. Later the family moved, to Albion where she married Arthur E. Connelly. Shortly after this they moved to Spalding where her 10 children were born. Preceding her in death was her husband, three sons, Virgil, Louis and Jerome, one daughter, Loretta. Survivors are ‘Delores Brown of Omaha, Merrill Connelly and Patricia Schwieger of Grand Island, Bob Connelly of Cedar Rapids, Helen Murphy and Emmett Connelly of Spalding. Also two sisters, Mrs. John Wlaschin of Grand Island, Mrs. Phil Eiche of New Buffalo, Michigan, four brothers, George Klassen of Albion, Leonard Klassen of Lincoln, Lawrence of Genoa, and Earl of Silver creek. A 4 p.m. rosary was recited at the Berberich Funeral Home by Father Rolland and a Dominican Rosary led by Sister Barbara at 4:30 p.m. Father Scott led the 8 o’clock rosary. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning January 27th in St. Michael’s Church with Rev. Charles Scott as celebrant of the Requiem Mass. Burial was in Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers were all grandsons: Bill Brown of Omaha, Micheal Connelly of Grand Island, Jim and Jack Murphy and Tom and Jim Connelly of Spalding. Among out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Wlaschin and Mrs. Mary Ann Caddy of Grand Island, Leonard Klassen of Lincoln, Mr and Mrs. Lawrence Klassen, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Klassen Jr. of Genoa, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Klassen, Mr. and Mrs. Don Klassen, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Klassen of Silver Creek, Gene Klassen of St. Edward, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lutgluseke of Columbus, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd McIntosh of St. Edward, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Timoney, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lukassen of Ulysses, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Weidner of Greeley, Mrs. Dale Meyer and Irene Olmsted of Ogallala, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Streeter of Loretto. Out of town friends attending ‘came from Grand Island, Greeley, St. Edward, Primrose, Cedar Rapids, Ravenna, Culbertson, Woodriver, Omaha, Columbus, Loretto and Lincoln.
