Siems, 87 years of age, of Beatrice, NE. passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2002 in a Lincoln, NE. hospital. He was born on October 23, 1914 near DeWitt, NE. After his marriage to Ruth Lueders, they lived on a farm east of DeWitt from 1938-1975 and they then lived in DeWitt until Ruth passed away on June 15, 1988. Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, R. DeWitt, Nebraska. Arthur H. Siems, 87 years of age, of Beatrice, NE. passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2002 in a Lincoln, NE. hospital. He was born on October 23, 1914 near DeWitt, NE. After his marriage to Ruth Lueders, they lived on a farm east of DeWitt from 1938-1975 and they then lived in DeWitt until Ruth passed away on June 15, 1988. In 1989 Arthur moved to Beatrice and he married Freda Wusk on June 9, 1991 in Sterling, NE. He was a life long member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, R. DeWitt, NE. and was chairman of the building committee when the present church was built, was past chairman of the church council and was a member of the Men in Mission of the church. He was a charter member of the Southeast Nebraska Livestock Feeders Association, and was past president of the Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. in DeWitt, NE. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf, and his flower garden. Survivors include his wife Freda F. (Buss) Wusk Siems, daughter RoJean Clifton and her husband Ben of Lincoln, NE.; son Wallace D. Siems and his wife Barbara of Beatrice, NE.; grandchildren Joel Siems of DeWitt, NE., Dyan Herron and her husband Scott of San Diego, CA.; 2 great grandchildren; sisters Elsie Brinkmeyer and her husband Albert of R. DeWitt, NE., Laura Germer of Wilber, NE., and Dorothy Huls and her husband Ralph of Cortland, NE.; stepsons Daryl D. Wusk and his wife Joyce of Wilber, NE., Arlo D. Wusk and his wife Barb and Everette B. Wusk and his wife Peggy, all of Sterling, NE.; step daughter Marjean F. Zumbahlen and her husband David of Bird City, Kansas; 11 step grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman F. and Sophia M. (Damkroger) Siems, first wife Ruth L. (Lueders) Siems; brothers Elmer and Lorenz Siems, sister Martha Schroeder; and 2 step grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, July 31, 2002 in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, R. DeWitt, NE. with Reverend Neal Mather officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, R. DeWitt, NE. The body will lie in state on Tuesday from 9-9:00 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, NE. and at the church one hour preceding the service. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. Wednesday in the church fellowship hall. A memorial has been established to the church with Delmer Helmke and Raymond Scheiding in charge.
