Description	:	LARSON, ARTHUR W.—Arthur W. Larson, eldest child of Alex and Charlotte Larson, was born December 4, 1880, at Geneseo, Henry county, Illinois. He departed this life March 24, 1945, at the age of 64 years, 3 months, and 20 days, after being confined in the St. Elizabeth hospital in Lincoln, Neb., for nine weeks with a heart ailment. Larson, eldest child of Alex and Charlotte Larson, was born December 4, 1880, at Geneseo, Henry county, Illinois. He departed this life March 24, 1945, at the age of 64 years, 3 months, and 20 days, after being confined in the St. Elizabeth hospital in Lincoln, Neb., for nine weeks with a heart ailment. At the age of three he came with his parents to Nebraska and settled on a homestead southwest of Geneva. He attended York college and Peru normal and taught for six years in Fillmore county rural schools. He was united in marriage to Effie A. Danielson, September 21, 1911. They made their home on a farm east of Geneva. In 1919 they purchased and moved onto a farm north of Geneva. In the spring of 1944 they retired and moved into Geneva. He leaves to mourn, besides his devoted widow, two sons and two daughters, Donald D. of Geneva, Mrs. Lester Souba of Geneva, T/Sgt. Eugene W., serving in the United States Army overseas, and Mrs. Stuart Gratopp of Shickley also four grandchildren, one brother, John R. of Lake Villa Ill., and two sisters, Mrs. Susie Ogg of Omaha and Mrs. Frank Oliver of Aurora, Ore. His parents, two sisters and one brother preceded him in death. When a boy he was confirmed in the Lutheran church and through the years had been a Christian. In May, 1944 he joined the Methodist church of Geneva and enjoyed its fellowship until his death. He was taking an active part in the "Crusade for Christ" movement at the time he became ill. His Christian faith sustained him throughout his illness and in that faith he entered peacefully into rest. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Geneva Monday afternoon, Rev. Elmer R. Peterson officiated. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal March 29, 1945 page 1.
