Description	:	LARSON, EFFIE ARVILLA—Effie Arvilla Larson was born to A. F. and Hilma Peterson Danielson on November 9, 1890, in Chelsea township, Fillmore county. She passed away at the Fillmore County hospital at the age of 89 years, eight months, and 17 days. She spent her entire life in the Geneva area, attending grad school, in district 45, graduating from Geneva high school in 1909. The following two years she taught school in District 67. F. and Hilma Peterson Danielson on November 9, 1890, in Chelsea township, Fillmore county. She passed away at the Fillmore County hospital at the age of 89 years, eight months, and 17 days. She spent her entire life in the Geneva area, attending grad school, in district 45, graduating from Geneva high school in 1909. The following two years she taught school in District 67. A highlight of her life was attending her 70th class reunion in 1979, having her four children and five of her grandchildren in attendance also. On September 21, 1911, she was united in marriage to Arthur W. Larson. To this union were born two sons and two daughters. They made their home on a farm east of Geneva. In 1919 they purchased and moved to a farm north of Geneva. In the spring of 1944 they retired and moved to town. In her early years she was a member of the United Brethren church, becoming a member of the Geneva Methodist church in 1944. She enjoyed attending church and Women’s Society. She was a charter member and officer of the Geneva township club. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. A thoughtful and generous person, Effie was known for her cooking and baking abilities which she always enjoyed sharing with family and friends. She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Donald D. and wife Jean of Geneva, Arlene and husband Lester Souba of Geneva, Eugene and wife Eunice of Pueblo, Colo., Bette and husband Stuart Gratopp of Geneva; also nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, husband Arthur, and one grandson, Richard Larson. Funeral services were held July 30 in Geneva at the Farmer and Son funeral home. Burial was in the Geneva public cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 7 August 1980 page 5.
