She was a graduate of Wesley College in Dover, DE, as well as Western Maryland College, in Westminister, MD. Read More	Audrey Leigh (Meredith) Knott passed away on February 6, 2015, at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, in Washington, D.C. She was born on May 29, 1930, in Easton, MD, the daughter of Nettie Viola (Sullivan) and Lacy Elmer Meredith. Audrey was raised in Caroline County on Maryland's Eastern Shore. She was a graduate of Wesley College in Dover, DE, as well as Western Maryland College, in Westminister, MD. She was a music teacher in both the Fairfax County, VA, and Charles County, MD, school systems. She was a member of Indian Head United Methodist Church for 64 years. She previously sang in the choir and was the assistant director, and eventually the director of the choir. She was also the church pianist and percussionist. In addition, she was active in the Southern Maryland Chapter of the Western Maryland Alumni Association. In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by three sisters, Clara (Earl) Wolverton, Ruth (Alton) Cannon, and Dorothy (Melvin) Mackert; four brothers, Jerome (Lettie) Meredith, Elmer (Elizabeth) Meredith, Wright (Mary) Meredith, and John Meredith; paternal grandparents, Alphonsa and Anne W. (Horsey) Meredith; and paternal great-grandparents, Dr. William H. and Sara S. (Smith) Meredith. She is survived by her husband, Francis Xavier Knott, Jr.; one daughter, Ann-Meredith (William) Chadwick; one son, Steven Morgan (Melody) Knott; five nieces, six nephews, five great-nieces, nine great-nephews, eight great-great-nieces, and nine great-great-nephews; and many other family members. Visitation held at Raymond Funeral Service, La Plata, MD. Funeral held at Indian Head United Methodist Church, Indian Head, MD. Interment in St. Charles Cemetery, Glymont, MD.
