Iowa W.P.A. also lists him as a Civil War vet. He was a private in Company A Reg. 32 of the Iowa Infantry. I found August and his wife Sophia when I was looking for the parents of Lucy Peitzke who was the 2nd wife of Frank Neumuth. They are buried in Lakewood Cem., Minneapolis. I found August and his wife Sophia when I was looking for the parents of Lucy Peitzke who was the 2nd wife of Frank Neumuth. They are buried in Lakewood Cem., Minneapolis. Lucy also had a sister Clara Peitzke Johnston who lived in Minneapolis and August as a widower lived with Clara until his death. There was also a son, Robert but I haven't found much on him.
