He was buried Feb. 5, 1960. ===================== The Deshler Rustler (Deshler, NE), Wednesday, February 10, 1960; pg. 3 Obituary Of August Eitzmann August Friedrich Eitzmann, eldest son of Peter C. Eitzmann and his wife, Wilhelmine nee Luedemann, was born on March 27, 1880, at Schwalingen, Hannover, Germany. He was baptized in the name of the Triune God in early infancy in the Lutheran Church near his birthplace. At the age of eleven, the deceased emigrated to the United Stated with his patients, brothers and sisters, where they settled on a farm east of Hardy, Nebr. In the spring of 1894 he was confirmed in St. Peters Lutheran Church of Byron, by Pastor W. Hertel. He was a member of the church until his death. The departed spent all his lifetime on the farm west of Byron, which was the home place. Although he lived alone, he was not without the companionship and loving concern of others. For a period of about thirty-four years, he spent nights at the home of his sister, Mrs. Minnie Moeller. After suffering from a stroke, he was taken to the Blue Valley Home in Hebron last fall. When his condition became worse and in need of special medical care, he was taken to the hospital in Hebron Thursday, Jan. 28. He departed this life on Tuesday morning, Feb. 2, 1960, at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 5 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and one sister. Those who survive him are: three brothers, Fred of Byron, Carl of Hardy, and Albert of Auburn; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Moeller and Mrs. Anna Reinke of Hardy; twenty-five nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Byron, on Friday, February 5, with the Rev. Dennis Mueller of Byron officiating in place of Pastor Adolph Lillich who was ill. The Men's Chorus sang "Asleep In Jesus", accompanied by Mrs. LaVern Kniep. The congregation sang "O Where Is The Home Of the Soul To Be Found?" and "Abide With Me", accompanied by Miss Maureen Schlueter. Pallbearers were: Herman Reinke, Ernest Eitzmann, Otto Mueller, William Moeller, Lenard Eitzman and Otto Eitzmann. Interment was in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. ======================== The Belleville Telescope (Belleville, KS), Thursday, February 11, 1960; pg. 10 AUGUST EITZMANN DIES August Eitzmann, 79, of Byron died Tuesday, February 2, at the Hebron Hospital. Funeral services will be held from St. Peters Lutheran church (sic), northwest of Byron, Friday at 2:00 o'clock.
