She was born Nov. 19, 1900, in Chapman Township, Ottawa County, Kan., to Samuel H. and Mary R. Jones Maxon. She graduated from Clyde High School, Clyde, Kan., in 1920. Jones Maxon. She graduated from Clyde High School, Clyde, Kan., in 1920. She taught school in Cloud, Republic and Clay Counties. On Aug. 12, 1931, she married Emerson Mallory. They farms near Scandia for 13 years and later moved east of Concordia until her husband's death in 1962. She moved into Concordia in July 1962 where she worked as a clerk at the Co-Op Oil Company until 1965. On Nov. 7, 1964, she married Ejner Larsen. He died in 1972. She had been a resident of Republic county Hospital Long Term Care unit since March 1991. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, UMW and a member of American legion Auxiliary, all of Concordia. Survivors include stepdaughter, Thelma Larson and husband Don of Scandia, Kan. and step-daughter-in-law Marjorie Larsen of Long Beach, Calif.; two nephews, Gene Maxon of Tulsa, Okla. And Viv Heald of Minneapolis, Kan.; five nieces, Audrey Berg of Hillsboro, Kan., Moyne Phillips of Bartlesville, Okla.; Dorothy Bockus of Salina, Kan., Eloise Miles of Junction city, Kan., and Portia Maxon of Topeka, Kan.; and 17 step-grandchildren. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Harley, Floyd and Emery Maxon, two sisters, Inis and Edith. The funeral will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 17, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Concordia, with the Rev. Bill Eisele officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Clyde, Kan. Memorial may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church of Republic County Hospital Long Term Care Unit.
