Read More	Stratford Courier July 15, 1937 Obituary Axel Edward Wahman Edward Wahman, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Wahman, was born near Stratford, Aug. 3, 1901, and died in his home here July 10, 1937, at the age of 35 years, 11 months, 7 days. On Nov. 19, 1923, he was united in marriage to Helen Ludwickson and to this union two sons were born, Duane, 13, and Lyle, 11. He had lived here practically all of his life with the exception of a few years when he lived near Stanhope. He became a member of the Stanhope Christian Church at the early age of 15 years. Left to mourn his death are his wife, two sons, his father, Ben Wahman, three brothers, Carl, Roy and Elmo, and one sister, Mrs. Lillie Simonson. His mother preceded him in death Feb. 22, 1934. He had been a patient sufferer from diabetes for ten years but during all of those years had never complained of his lot nor wanted sympathy. He worked in a local oil station when his health permitted for the last six years and he was highly respected by a very large circle of friends. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, July 12, in the Roy Wahman home at 1:30 o'clock and in the Baptist church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. C.F. Schmidt, of the Stanhope Christian church was in charge of both services. Mrs. Oscar Borg and Mrs. Everett Bergman sang two duets, "Have Thine Own Way, Lord," and "City Four Square." The accompaniments were played by Mrs. Marie Martens. Interment was in the family lot in Oakwood Cemetery. The pallbearers were Alva Simonson, Oscar Borg, John Peterson, Clifford Barquist, M.E. Pomeroy, William Hartshorn. Card of Thanks We wish to extend our sincere thanks to those who assisted us during the illness and death of our beloved husband and father and son, Edward Wahman. Also thank the singers, the pallbearers and for the floral offerings. And especially to the donors of the cash gift.
