Wahman, 71, of Kamrar, Iowa passed away at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City, Iowa on Saturday, July 29, 1995 due to complications from cancer. He was born on May 14, 1924 in Beaver Township in Boone County, Iowa, the son of Edward and Helen (Stoner) Wahman. On November 12, 1976, he married Jean Stayner at the United Methodist Church in Kamrar, Iowa. Duane was a 1941 graduate of the Stratford High School in Stratford, Iowa. He farmed south of the Stanhope and Stratford area for a number of years until moving to Colorado. In 1970, he moved to Kamrar, Iowa where he was assistant manager of the Kamrar Co-op. He was also employed at the Hamilton County Landfill and the Touchdown Convenience Store in Webster City, Iowa. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Kamrar, Iowa and the American Legion Post #191 of Webster City, Iowa. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the Marines in the Pacific Theater. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one daughter. Survivors include his wife Jean Wahman of Kamrar, Iowa; 2 daughters and sons-in-law Sharon and Jim Lund of Thorton, Colorado, Nancy and Monte Kingsley of Ft. Collins, Colorado; 1 son and daughter-in-law Mark and Nancy Wahman of Thorton, Colorado; 3 step-daughters and sons-in-law Terry and Jim Anderson Jr. of Alden, Iowa, Sue and Steve Enzian of Stanhope, Iowa, and Laura and Jack Parrish of Kamrar, Iowa; 1 brother Lyle Wahman of Stratford, Iowa; 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Services will be held on Thursday, August 3rd, at 10:00 a.m. at the Faith United Methodist church in Webster City, Iowa with Rev. Charles Smith officiating. Interment with military graveside services will be in the Oakwood Cemetery north of Stratford, Iowa. Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Stratford, Iowa on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and at the Faith United Methodist Church in Webster City, Iowa on Thursday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service. The family will be present at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Stratford on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to greet friends. Stark-Welin Funeral Directors in Stratford, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
