Description	:	Barbara Lee Haller, age 70, of Hicksville passed away February 13, 2009 at Parkview Hospital, Ft. Wayne, with her loving mother and sister at her side. She fought a courageous battle with cancer. Barbara was born in Milford Township, Defiance County, Ohio to Richard and LaVera (Osmun) Haller. Barbara attended Farmer School in Farmer, Ohio and graduated from Hicksville High School. She received a certificate in higher education in Omaha, Nebraska. She had been employed in the purchasing department at International Harvester and then married Major Ron Dodson and lived in San Antonio, Texas.... She fought a courageous battle with cancer. Barbara was born in Milford Township, Defiance County, Ohio to Richard and LaVera (Osmun) Haller. Barbara attended Farmer School in Farmer, Ohio and graduated from Hicksville High School. She received a certificate in higher education in Omaha, Nebraska. She had been employed in the purchasing department at International Harvester and then married Major Ron Dodson and lived in San Antonio, Texas. She later lived in Columbia, Maryland and was employed by the Department of Army and received a Commander’s Award for Civilian Service and certificates of appreciation before moving back to Milford Township, Defiance County. She retired from Meridian Automotive Systems of Grabill, Indiana. After retirement she helped care for her brother, Layel Haller during his illness. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, watching Purdue sports and auto racing, interior decorating and gourmet cooking. She was a member of the Red Hats, Hicksville Eagles Auxiliary and REAC. She leaves behind her mother LaVera of Hicksville, sister Carol (Nick) Brown, nephew Nick (Evangeline) Brown, a great niece and great nephew Keya and Nicky Brown all of Florida and other nieces and nephews. Also, special friends Roberta and Jim Slight of Hicksville and Vickey Kindrick of Texas. She was preceded in death by infant sister Shirley, father Richard Haller, brother Layel Haller and grandparents Frank and Mable Haller and Dale and Ella Osmun. The funeral service is at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, Ohio on Tuesday at 11:00. Pastor Tom Graves is officiating. Visitation is on Monday from 4:00-7:00 with an Eagles Auxiliary service is at 7:00. Burial will be at Six Corners Cemetery-Hicksville. Memorials in Barbara’s name may be made to the charity of your choice.
