Description	:	LaVera Maxine Haller, 100, of Bryan, Ohio, formerly of Hicksville, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Community Hospital and Wellness Center, Bryan, Ohio. Born on January 14, 1916 in Milford Township, Hicksville, Ohio, LaVera was one of ten children born to the late Dale and Ella (Scranton) Osmun. On October 31, 1932, LaVera was united in marriage to Richard Haller and he preceded her in death on October 27, 1991. LaVera and Richard farmed the family land all their working years. Read More	LaVera Maxine Haller, 100, of Bryan, Ohio, formerly of Hicksville, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Community Hospital and Wellness Center, Bryan, Ohio. Born on January 14, 1916 in Milford Township, Hicksville, Ohio, LaVera was one of ten children born to the late Dale and Ella (Scranton) Osmun. On October 31, 1932, LaVera was united in marriage to Richard Haller and he preceded her in death on October 27, 1991. LaVera and Richard farmed the family land all their working years. LaVera also retired after working many years at Kroger. She often talked about the many friends she met there. LaVera and Richard traveled extensively in their motor home after they retired, covering most of the United States. LaVera also traveled with friend Lottie Forder to Isreal after the Six Day War. She spent her later years wintering in Florida. Since 2010 she has resided at Hillside Country Living in Bryan, Ohio, where she enjoyed the card games and many other activities. LaVera was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, VFW, Loyal Workers and was instrumental in starting the AARP in Defiance County. LaVera is survived by a daughter, Carol (Nick) Brown; grandson, Nick II (Evangeline); great grandchildren, Dr. Keya Brown, Nick III; and two sisters, Lois Howe and Wanda Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her children, Shirley, Layel, Barbara; five brothers, Cletus, Dallas, Jake, Deloy, Dick Osmun; and two sisters, Opal Smith and Eleanor Rowe. Funeral services for LaVera will be Friday at 2:00 with visitation starting at 1:00 at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville. Burial will be in Six Corners Cemetery, Hicksville.
