Church in this city, Monday, December 2, at 11 a.m. Mrs. Kauth was born in Muscatine county, Iowa, June 4th, 1870. With her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Schnider, she moved to Fillmore county, Nebraska in 1872. She was married to Gus Kauth December 2, 1889. The home of Mr. Kauth and wife was in York until 1904, when they moved to Wood River, where they have since resided. Four fourteen years she had been a member of the M.E. Church. She leaves a husband, seven children, a mother, brother and three sisters to mourn her loss. The funeral was in charge of Rev. John Gallagher. Fillmore Chronicle (Fairmont) December 6th, 1907 page 8. ALSO: Barbara Theresa Schneider was born June 4, 1870, in Muscatine county, Iowa. When two years old she came to Fillmore county, Nebraska with her father and mother. On December 2, 1888, she was married to Gus Kauth. They made their home in this vicinity for a number of years, then removed to York and from there to Wood River, having made that their home for the past year. Mrs. Kauth had been a great sufferer. It became necessary to have an operation performed and she went to the Swedish hospitla iat Omaha on the 16th of November and died there on the 29th of November, 1907. The remains were brought her to the home of her mother, Mrs. Johanna Schneider, Saturday evening and she was laid to rest on Monday, December 2, her nineteenth wedding anniversary, in the Fairmont cemetery beside her father. There survive the deceased, her husband and seven children, Valura, Lawrence, Lodema, Lloyd, Pearl, Cecil and baby May, three years old; she is also survived by her mother and three sisters, Mrs. Schroder of Geneva, Mrs. jacob Kirst of Geneva and Mrs. F.M. Bradley of near Geneva; and one brother, Henry Schneider of Sawyer. The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Methodist church in Fairmont. The deceased had been a member of the Methodist church for fourteen years. Many relatives and friends gathered to pay their last tribute to the deceased.
